Adam Newell MCIAT
I have been a member of the Greater London Region committee for almost four years now, and while there have been some challenges, I feel over this time the committee have forged as a team, and we have delivered some great results.
I’m a strong believer in the work of the committee and believe that we have the opportunity to make a real difference to the future of our institute, for the benefit of all its’ members.
We are at a time of unprecedented change within our industry; which I believe, we as Chartered Professionals, can make a real impression in shaping for the better. I feel passionately about the positive contributions we are able to make, and representing the regional membership is vital to our success as an institute. It provides us the opportunity to share our achievements, build tighter networks, and have our say on the future of our institute.
As secretary, as well as fulfilling my administrative duties, I have worked to build an all-inclusive structure which provides formality and fairness. We have worked an open-door policy for the committee, encouraging as many as we can to get involved, by forming working groups for structured tasks, that has given people a sense of ownership, and belonging to a team. We have encouraged a democratic ethos which has provided everyone in the region the opportunity to be involved. I hope, should I be re-elected, that I may continue this work.
As the committee is evolving, so should the roles in which we inhabit. I believe, I have served my time as Secretary well, and it is time to give someone else the opportunity to adopt the role.
Therefore, as we form a new committee and start the next chapter in representing the region for the coming two years, should I be re-elected, I shall be putting my name forward as Chairman. I hope for the opportunity to continue my efforts, and would be honoured to take the helm for the exciting challenges to come.
The success of the institute is very important to me, and I would be esteemed to once again represent our region on the regional committee.
