Elliott Peters, MCIAT
I have been a member of CIAT for approximately 5 years and since becoming chartered around 2 years ago have consciously taken a more proactive and involved approach within the Greater London Region. Becoming a member of the Regional Committee has provided me with the opportunity to allow this to happen.
Since joining, and although a relatively new member, I feel that not only have I been made welcome, but have been encouraged to take an active, and engaging role within the committee. I strongly feel that this has been a product of the informal and sociable approach taken within meetings and events by all the committee members. It is my desire to aid in maintaining this environments in which to further connect with the region's current, future and potential members.
Having become Editorial Officer it has been my role to drive the re-branding of the region and reform the website and to co-ordinate correspondence with the wider region.
On a personal level, having come through the Chartership process in the last couple of years, it would be an aspiration to support the region to further encourage new and potential members in the transition from education through to eventual Chartership. I feel this period as critical in establishing an awareness of the relevance of continued membership of CIAT, but also in taking an active engagement with their region and its members. In doing so, not only facilitating their progression to Chartership, but as a mechanism for their personal and career development beyond Chartership.
